Happy july! We’re back with another edition of our roundup of legal industry news. Read on for the latest news on hiring, pro bono and legal innovation in law firms.

Recruitment and relocation of law firms

Lots of Shelist Law announced new management committee members and practice leaders for their firm.

Sheryl Jaffee Halpern, president of Much’s work and employment group, joined the management committee. In her work and employment practice, Ms. Halpern advises employers, designing practical solutions for complex legal and business problems.

Pro Bono & Recognition

The Public interest law initiative‘s (PILI) Pro bono recognition list recognized Barnes & Thornburg‘s pro bono, alongside 47 other law firms.

Steptoe & Johnson PLLC is one of more than 160 law firms participating in the Mansfield 5.0 rule certification to treat. The Mansfield certification process ensures that companies consider at least 30% women, lawyers with disabilities of various racial and ethnic backgrounds, and LGBTQ for promotions and leadership roles.

Law firm awards and innovation

Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and Chicago Lawyer Magazine recognized Susan A. Capra, partner of Clifford Law Firms, as one of the 50 Hi! Step-wife in 2021.

The Law Bulletin / Chicago Lawyer Selection Committee, Ms. Capra’s peers, and a Women’s Advisory Board selected Ms. Capra for the award from a pool of over 400 applicants.
