SRINAGAR: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kargil-II (Zanskar) one day celebrated Kisan Mela at their main campus Padum Zanskar on 23-09-2021. The key theme of the Mela was “Empowering Youth and Tribal Women for Technology-Based Agriculture in the Arid and Cold Deserts of the Himalayas”. Farmers from different villages, officials from parent departments, BDC presidents, Sarpanches, Panches and other local representatives from the Zanskar region participated in the event. Fresh agricultural produce and value added products from KrishiVigyan Kendra, progressive farmers and self-help groups (SHG) were featured in the Mela. In addition, advanced agricultural machinery, high-quality local processed products, seeds of promising varieties of high-yielding grains, fodder and vegetables, and other advanced technologies introduced by Kendra were also presented.
