Munda IGNCA organizes a seminar on tribal women

Under the joint sponsorship of the Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts, Ranchi University and Vikas Bharati Bishunpur, held a seminar on “Adivasi Stree Discussion” at Aryabhatta Auditorium here on Tuesday. Dr. Kumar Sanjay Jha, Regional Director of IGNCA, while welcoming the guests, highlighted in detail the relevance of the program. Arjun Munda, Union Chief Guest Minister for Tribal Affairs, and Sameer Oraon, MP for Rajya Sabha, special guest, were present for the occasion. Other dignitaries including Dr. Asha Lakra, Mayor of Ranchi Municipal Corporation, Padma Shri recipient, Dr. Ashok Bhagat, Secretary, Vikas Bharti Vishunpur, Dr. Ranjana Kumari, Member of Jharkhand State Food Commission and Sanjay Mishra, president of the Ranchi Press Club, were present. the program.

Addressing the programme, the chief guest said that for the upliftment of tribal peoples, events like Adivasi Stree Vimarsh are commendable. For the development of tribal women, it is necessary to ensure the participation of women in these events. The discussion of tribal women is the contemplation of the weaknesses, problems, awareness and empowerment of tribal women.

The special guest present on the occasion, Sameer Oraon, said that there is also a need to organize such programs in remote tribal areas. In addition, the participation of tribal women will give meaning to the objectives of the program.

The mayor, Dr Asha Lakra, said there was a need to properly and appropriately define Dhuku inter-tribal marriages.

Dr. Damayanti Sinku, Dr. Steffi Teresa Murmu, Dr. Meenakshi Munda, Madhushree Hatiyal, Sonali Murmu Soren, Prof. Anil Kullu, Mahadev Toppo, Sukmani Hembram and Rani Kumari were present as speakers in the program, where several points such as the status of tribal women in society, the participation of Adi philosophy in worldview, the tribal art, modern challenges of tribal women, employment, forest health and conservation, etc. were discussed.

Besides Ranchi, around 500 tribal women from areas such as Khunti, Latehar, Lohardaga, Dumka, Gumla, Bundu-Tamad, Singhbhum-Kharsawa also participated in the program.

The program was chaired by Ashok Bhagat, the guests were introduced by Dr. Ranjana Kumari, Member of Jharkhand State Food Commission. During the program, the stage was conducted by Dr. Kamal Kumar Bose and at the end of the program, the vote of thanks to all the guests was done by Bolo Kumari Oraon.
